Conference: LLAIS GWLAD - November 2006
Dafydd Wigley will be addressing the GWLAD project’s conference LLAIS GWLAD which takes place between 9.30 and 5.00 pm on Thursday 30th November 2006 at The Conference Centre, Llandudno.
GWLAD is a unique and innovative partnership that is working across rural areas of north Wales and is led by The School of Lifelong Learning, Bangor University with CAIS, Medrwn Môn, Stonewall Cymru, Black Environment Network (BEN), The Welsh Language Board, Chwarae Teg, The Open University, and Alfred McAlpine Slate Ltd.
The partnership is funded through the EQUAL programme. EQUAL is the European Union's Community Initiative Programme, which aims to promote new ways of combating all forms of discrimination and inequalities in relation to the labour market.
The GWLAD partnership has been carrying out research into the barriers faced by people in accessing education and training opportunities in rural areas. The GWLAD partnership has also been piloting innovative approaches to learning and advice, designed to meet the particular needs of people living in rural areas. The theme for the conference is LLAIS – Lessons Learned and Ideas Shared – focusing on the activities of the GWLAD project to date.
We very much hope that you will be able to join us on this occasion to find out more about the project. Lunch will be provided.
